Building better prompts: practical skills for everyday work

This month, as part of the AI Enablement program, the AI team organized a hands-on “Prompting Power Hour” session with colleagues at Steinweg Bridge. Another session will be a bit more tailored edition for the Base Metals department in Rotterdam.
But what is a prompting workshop, and why does it matter? These workshops are focused, practical sessions designed to help teams get the most out of AI tools like ChatGPT.
By working through real everyday tasks, such as extracting information from PDF’s or Excels, writing client remails or summarizing updates, participants learn how providing clearer, more effective instructions yields better results.
- Adapted content for each audience – with a broader approach in South Africa, and Base Metals-specific prompts lined up for Rotterdam.
- Live examples – real tasks rewritten on the spot using more precise and effective prompts.
- A shift in approach – from experimenting with AI to integrating it into our daily workflows.
These workshops are part of a larger initiative: helping teams across Steinweg use AI in practical, efficient, and workflow-aligned ways.
