Cornelder issued a notice to inform the public that the Port of Beira will be closed on 23 February 2023. They have asked that all trucks, currently on their way to the port, stay in safer places until weather conditions have improved.

The port is expected to reopen on 24 February 2023, at 19:00 PM, if the weather permits.

The decision to close the port is a result of weather forecasts that indicate the probability of Cyclone Freddy affecting the city of Beira tomorrow.
