C. Steinweg celebrating new services

C. Steinweg celebrating new services – INE & SHFE copper contracts in one location at the C. Steinweg Shanghai Waigaoqiao (WGQ) Bonded Logistics Zone

C. Steinweg entered the Chinese mainland market in 1994. In 2004 and 2010, the company invested and established locations in the WGQ Bonded Logistics Zone and the Yangshan Free Trade Port to provide global customers with warehousing, logistics and various derivative services of non-ferrous metals and other commodities.

After receiving approval as a designated delivery warehouse for the international copper futures contract of the Shanghai International Energy Trading Center (INE) in November 2020, C. Steinweg WGQ was able, under the "bonded plus" policy of the WGQ Port Free Trade Zone, to also obtain approval as a designated delivery warehouse for the copper futures contract of the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) in May 2021. By doing so, C. Steinweg WGQ is able to offer the unique value proposition of warehousing for both domestic and international copper contracts, non-bonded and bonded – all in one physical location. This service offering is supporting the so-called “double cycle development plan” of China’s futures markets, letting domestic and international markets overlap.

Below you will find a short video of the recent official event, celebrating this new service with high-ranking representatives of the Shanghai Pudong New District government, SHFE, INE, WGQ authorities, and Customs.

Special thanks to all colleagues who made this possible and we are looking forward to expand our cooperation with SHFE and INE!
