Overview:

The holder of the position is responsible for providing IT support and services in the company, including network services, computer hardware and software system installations, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance to required standards in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and requirements of the company

Job Functions:

Installation & Configuration

  • Perform installation of hardware and software components in office computers and computerised devices

Troubleshooting, maintenance & repair

  • Ensure proper troubleshooting of office computers and computerised devices
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of hardware and software systems of computers and computerised devices

Network and Systems upgrading

  • Upgrading computerised systems and networks to ensure proper functioning, compatibility and security

Networks and computer systems evaluation

  • Regularly evaluate office network systems and computers to ascertain their performance and any intervention required
  • Perform tests of network and computer systems to detect performance levels

Terminals and Office sites monitoring

  • Schedule plan of daily survey of terminals and offices to check network, computers and systems functioning.

Customer Support

  • Provide support to staff and other members of the organisation on computer-related technical assistance

Advise on technical matters

  • Provide proper advice to management on correct actions in improving network and computer functions
  • Provide correct technical advice to staff and the team on IT matters

Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain records of computers available in the offices and their specifications
  • Keep records of computer and computerised devices purchases
  • Keep records of computers and network systems repair and maintenance

Reports

  • Prepare and share daily, weekly and monthly reports to management on IT functions in the company

Training and support

  • Provide training and support to staff and other members of the organisation on IT-related matters

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure personal compliance with the OHS policies and requirements, including wearing safety PPE daily
  • Ensure that you know and adhere to all SHEQ policies and requirements.
  • Report any breach of SHEQ policy or requirement to the SHEQ representative.
  • Report any recommendations for improving SHEQ policies
  • Champion & drive a SHERQ culture in the working environment

Adhere to company policies & procedures

  • Ensure you follow relevant company policies and procedures.

Others

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 4 to 5 years of proven experience in IT support, systems administration, or network maintenance within the logistics, freight forwarding, or port/terminal operations industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in diagnostic troubleshooting, LAN/WAN network setup, hardware maintenance, system evaluation, and IT asset tracking.
  • Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure requirements within terminal environments, field sites, and fast-paced supply chain operations.
  • Soft Skills: Clear communication skills, a strong service mindset for staff training, and the ability to work independently across multiple locations.
